Font outlines become solid letters

Your text begins as font outlines: flat 2D curves, not solid geometry. To go from text to STL, the browser loads a typeface, turns each letter you typed into vector shapes, and extrudes those shapes into a solid 3D mesh — the extrusion depth controls how thick your letters are from front to back. Shallow depth suits light signs and decorative labels; deeper extrusion gives you sturdy freestanding letters, nameplates, tags, and cookie-cutter-style text. The finished STL is a triangle mesh, so the smooth curves of the font become many small facets your slicer can read.

Resin handles finer detail, but thin descenders and dots still need enough thickness to survive washing and curing. A practical routine: export at a comfortable size, then scale in your slicer while watching wall thickness and minimum feature size.
